The Ganga Aarti, also called the Maha Aart i, is an evening prayer and a major highlight of the Triveni Ghat performed on the banks of the River Ganga. The Rishikesh aarti attracts a large number of devotees and visitors and is accompanied by the chanting of bhajans, beating drums, and bells. People lit oil Diyas, put them on flower-filled leaf boats, and release them into the holy waters of the river. These illuminated lamps in the evening provide a beautiful view.
